AlteraSF builds AI that calls bluff on resumes. Our screening tool, Altera AI Screen, reads resumes and auto-generates technical questions based on what candidates claim to know. This helps skeptical hiring managers, overloaded HR teams, and admissions committees verify expertise fast.
We catch resume BS before it reaches the interview stage, exposing exaggeration, testing real-world depth, and surfacing red flags early.
Currently in limited-access deployment, we’re scaling quickly and looking for our first junior engineer to grow with us.
Role Overview
We’re seeking a Software Development Associate to join our early team. This is a fully remote role.
You’ll help design, build, and improve core features of Altera AI Screen, working closely with senior engineers and founders. This is a unique opportunity to learn fast, gain ownership, and make an outsized impact at an early-stage AI startup in the recruiting tech space.
What You’ll Do
- Contribute to development across the stack: frontend, backend, and APIs.
- Build features that integrate with resume parsing, AI-driven question generation, and scoring systems.
- Help develop dashboards and tools for hiring managers, recruiters, and admissions officers.
- Work closely with senior team members to iterate quickly based on user feedback.
- Learn best practices in code quality, testing, and deployment in a production environment.
Requirements
- 0-2 years of professional experience, or strong projects/internships that demonstrate full-stack skills.
- Proficiency in at least one frontend framework
- Experience with backend development
- Familiarity with databases
- Interest in AI/LLMs and eagerness to learn
- Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to tackle new challenges
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to cloud infrastructure
- Experience with AI APIs
- Previous work in HRTech, EdTech, or recruiting tools.
